Tovah Jacobson, the founder of Atlanta Mobile Massage, started the company in August 2008. She felt that massage should be something for everyone, and so strived to make massage both affordable and time efficient. When asked why chair massage instead of table massage, she says, “Chair massage is easy and practical for our busy lives. I can bring my chair, specially designed for massage, to any event, function, or office. Chair massage fits into your life not the other way around.”

Tovah is both licensed in the state of Georgia and nationally certified. She spent almost a year studying at the North Carolina School of Natural Healing in Asheville where she studied many different modalities (types of massage). Some of the techniques she learned were Swedish, Deep Tissue, Neuromuscular Therapy, Thai, Accupressure, Hydrotherapy, and Trigger Point Therapy to name a few. Although she likes practicing these types of massage, she enjoys chair massage the most. “I think that people feel more comfortable on a chair,” Tovah says. “It’s in a familiar environment, and if not, you are fully clothed so you can feel completely at ease. It’s time efficient as even a 15 minute massage can make a big difference, and it’s more affordable. That way, I can help more to feel better and feel more relaxed.”

Tovah has worked many jobs and traveled extensively, but it is truly her love of massage that has won her heart. From day one at school, she knew that was what she was supposed to be doing. “I love my job,” says Tovah with a big smile on her face. And watching her work, you can tell she truly does.
